Prof. Solomon Olufunmilayo Olubunmi Badejo JP NPOM is the Executive Director, Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria, Ibadan, Oyo state. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Forestry with second class upper from the University of Ibadan in 1973; Masters Degree in Forestry from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada with specialisation in Wood Science and Technology in 1977, and a Ph.D in Forestry and Wood Technology from Federal University of Technology, Akure in 1999. A recipient of National Productivity Order of Merit Award of 2009 (NPOM) by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr.Goodluck Ebele Jonathan GCFR in the year 2010.

Prof. S.O. Badejo is a Fellow of the Forestry Association of Nigeria (FAN) ; Fellow of Certified Institute of Public Administration and Management, Nigeria (CIPAM) and a Fellow of the Certified Institute of Public Administration, Ghana (CIPA)
